LEHI, Utah, Dec. 06, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE/Korea IT Times) -- Lingotek | The Translation Network announced today that the company has expanded access to neural machine translation (NMT) to its vast network of Lingotek - Inside users. Users of Lingotek’s translation management system (TMS) already had access to both Microsoft’s and Google’s NMT engines. But with today’s announcement, NMT technology has now been enabled for all of Lingotek’s Inside Connectors, which are used by 10,000+ active WordPress users, 74,000+ Drupal users, and thousands more including users of AEM, Sitecore, Magento, and many of the most popular content management system (CMS) applications.

"Neural MT is an exciting development in translation technology," said Rob Vandenberg, President and CEO of Lingotek. "We are pleased to formally announce that we support two of the biggest neural machine translation projects. Our commitment to providing the latest and greatest technology to all of our clients is important to us as we continue to develop the world’s best translation network."

NMT provides superior results because it brings AI-like capability that considers the entire input sentence as a translated unit. When Google announced its Neural Machine Translation System (GNMT) in 2016, its research reported that “GNMT reduces translation errors by more than 55%-85% on several language pairs.” NMT can handle the infinite variations of language through brain-like pattern recognition and “learns” the subtleties of languages based on particular language characteristics such as gender, formality, etc. This provides higher quality translation than the statistical machine translation (SMT) model, which uses algorithms to find the best translation for a word. Translations using NMT also sound more natural and fluent than SMT. There are currently eleven languages supported by Microsoft NMT: Arabic, Chinese Mandarin, English, French, German, Italian, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Japanese, and Korean. Google NMT supports 30 languages.

Lingotek - Inside Connectors offers native integrations with the most popular web applications: CRM, CMS, eCommerce platforms, knowledge bases, product and support documentation, social business software, marketing automation suites, desktop files, and even software localization. The connectors provide access to Lingotek’s translation management system (TMS) the most mature, full-featured, cloud-based TMS on the market, providing users with the industry’s most advanced tools for streamlining the translation process. The Translation Network provides businesses with industry-leading translation tools, including an innovative in-context workbench, programmatic quality assurance, easy-to-use customizable workflows, and business intelligence.
