SAN JOSE, Calif., Feb. 12, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Cohesity, the leader of hyperconverged secondary storage, today announced it has been recognized on the inaugural “2018 Gartner Peer Insights Customers’ Choice for Data Center Backup and Recovery Software” list. Based on 84 customer reviews, Cohesity earned the highest overall rating of 4.8 of 5 stars in this market as of February 12. Cohesity received reviews from customers across a wide range of industries, including finance, health care, professional services, education, energy, manufacturing, media, communications, construction, retail, and transportation.

“From our inception, Cohesity has been obsessively focused on customer success and delivering value — from designing products that solve their biggest secondary storage challenges to offering world-class support. We believe that receiving the ‘2018 Gartner Peer Insights Customers’ Choice for Data Center Backup and Recovery Software’ distinction validates that we are successfully delivering on our mission,” said Lynn Lucas, chief marketing officer, Cohesity. “To us, the reviews provide evidence that our web-scale, hyperconverged secondary storage solution helps enterprises simplify and extract new value from backup and recovery.”

Gartner defines the data center backup and recovery software market as being focused on providing backup capabilities for upper-end midmarket and large-enterprise environments. To qualify for this distinction, vendors must have at least one product that Gartner’s research analysts designate as relevant to the market category, must have 50 or more published customer reviews within the 12-month submission period, and an average overall rating of 4.200 stars or greater. Reviews published must pass Gartner’s validation, conflict of interest and moderation process.

Included in the ratings on Gartner Peer Insights was a review by a chief information officer in the healthcare industry that described Cohesity DataProtect as a “great product, very robust, and well-supported,” and added, “Flexibility is much improved over our previous solution.”

A review by a chief information officer in the finance industry called Cohesity’s solution the “new evolution in backup,” citing its “speed and reliability” and “innovative backups.”

A senior systems administrator at an energy and utilities company posted a review that stated, “Cohesity DataProtect is a refreshingly easy solution to implement and use … Working with Cohesity regularly has been a real time saver. The solution has been much faster and reliable than our old one.”

Another review by a director of technical operations in the education sector called Cohesity’s system a “revolutionary backup and recovery solution” that is “truly and amazing product and the support has been excellent.”

The vice president of infrastructure at a health care company posted a review saying the “Cohesity solution exceeds our overall expectations — product is a perfect fit for us,” and continued that “Cohesity assisted us from POC through the lab and test phase all the way to production migration. Any and all requirements were met and when we confronted challenges as in features or capabilities not being available, Cohesity quickly provided the required enhancements.”

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. and DALLAS, Feb. 12, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- FireMon, provider of continuous security for the hybrid enterprise, announced today that CRN®, a brand of The Channel Company, has named Kurt Mills, Vice President of Global Channel Sales & Operations, to its list of 2018 Channel Chiefs. The executives on this annual list represent top leaders in the IT channel who excel at driving growth and revenue in their organization through channel partners.

Channel Chief honorees are selected by CRN’s editorial staff on the basis of their professional achievements, standing in the industry, dedication to the channel partner community and strategies for driving future growth and innovation. Each of the 2018 Channel Chiefs has demonstrated loyalty and ongoing support for the IT channel by consistently promoting, defending and executing outstanding channel partner programs.

With a proven track record of building and upgrading channel programs, distribution and strategic relationships, Mills has put into place a highly effective, solution-oriented worldwide channel sales strategy. In the past year, he spearheaded the relaunch of FireMon’s Ignite Partner Program, which evolved and expanded the program internationally and introduced new systems and tools to enable channel sales.

The refresh was anchored by a state-of-the-art, mobile-friendly partner portal that gives partners direct access to sales tools, deal registrations and ready-made marketing campaigns. Another focus of the program evolution has been eLearning – a priority for Mills, since he joined the company in 2016. As such, the new program includes two new online, self-paced courses for technical and sales resources as well as an advanced, bootcamp-style course led by a FireMon instructor.

“This year, we put the focus back on our partners, making it easier for them to bring more effective security management to their customers,” said Mills. “We wanted to remove barriers to working with FireMon, and I’m happy to report that more than 200 partners around the world have leveraged the new systems and tools we rolled out last year.”

Previously Mills ran worldwide channel sales and operations for Blue Coat Systems. He also held leadership positions at Aerohive Networks, Websense and McAfee.

“The executives on CRN’s 2018 Channel Chiefs list stand out for their exceptional leadership, vision and commitment to the channel,” said Robert Faletra, Executive Chairman of The Channel Company. “These individuals deserve special recognition for their development and support of robust partner programs, innovative business strategy and significant contribution to the overall health of a vigorously growing channel. We applaud each Channel Chief’s impressive record of accomplishments and look forward to their future successes.”

The 2018 CRN Channel Chiefs list, including the 50 Most Influential Channel Chiefs, is featured online at www.crn.com/channelchiefs and will appear in the February 2018 issue of CRN.
