AUSTIN, Texas, Feb. 20, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE/KOREA IT TIMES) -- Xplore Technologies Corp. (NASDAQ:XPLR) today announced that it has received purchase orders totaling more than $2.4 million for Xplore F5m rugged tablet PCs from one of the largest manufacturers of advanced sensing technologies and innovative embedded measurement solutions in the United States. The OEM has chosen the clean-room approved F5m to serve as the dedicated computer console for its new advanced thermal validation system.

“This OEM has long set the industry standards for validation technologies and is constantly looking for new ways to create value for its pharmaceutical and clean room customers,” said Tom Wilkinson, CEO of Xplore. “The removable rugged tablet console significantly improves the thermal validation system’s data handling and management capabilities without compromising compliance standards.”

The state-of-the-art system, which meets U.S. industry and regulatory (FDA/GAMP) requirements, is custom-designed for the calibration and traceability of incubators, freezers, autoclaves, dry heat sterilizers and stability chambers, among other applications. The portable and rugged Xplore F5m-based console will specifically be used for the programming, displaying, reporting and storage of validation system data, streamlining overall system operation for technicians.

“By standardizing on a single mobile tablet that offers a familiar user experience, our OEM customer enables technicians to focus on validation tasks rather than figuring out a new technology interface every few months or years. This saves the OEM’s customers both time and money,” Wilkinson continued. “The Xplore F5m’s proven reliability and constant connectivity is also a significant selling point. Users can rest assured that they will have access to the critical system information they need to make real-time decisions during clean room device maintenance and validation transactions.”

The highly scalable 10.4” Xplore F5m rugged tablet is capable of syncing with multiple validation system units to deliver high accuracy measurements, automated sensor calibration, a metro-style user interface and detailed reporting capabilities. The Windows® and Intel®-powered mobile computer is also pre-loaded with validation-specific software, a built-in camera and multiple I/O, including USB 3.0 and docking connections. It features a projective capacitive dual-touch Gorilla® Glass display, a top molded handle for a slip-free gripping, and a rubberized frame for shock dampening. The hardened water and dust-resistant (IP54) console is also C1D2/ATEX compliant for safe use in Hazardous Locations.
