Huawei is expected to release the world’s first smartphone equipped with a 512GB internal memory.
US Information Technology (IT) professional media, Android Authority, reported that the Huawei smartphone was registered with the device name ‘NEO-AL00’ with 6 GB RAM and 512 GB internal memory in the list of China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (TENAA) certification.
Huawei announced that its P20 series smartphone, which will be unveiled in Paris, France on the 27th, will also support an internal memory of 256 GB. If Huawei releases the 512 GB smartphone, it is likely to be released as early as April, before the Samsung Galaxy Note 9. The media predicted that ‘Mate X’, a trademark registered in Europe, is likely to be a 512 GB smartphone.
Meanwhile, Samsung Electronics announced in December of last year that it would mass-produce the world’s first 512 GB internal memories for mobile devices. The existing 64 GB smartphone can record thirteen-10 minute videos in 4K UHD (3840x2160) mode, but the 512 GB smartphone can record 130 clips consecutively.
Originally, the Galaxy S9 series was expected to be equipped with 512 GB of internal memory, but it was released with a 64 GB and 256 GB capacity. Samsung’s first flagship smartphone with 512 GB of internal memory will be the Galaxy Note 9, which will be released in the second half of this year.
Phone Radar predicted, “The 512 GB internal memory developed by Samsung Electronics will be used for the Huawei 512 GB smartphone.”
