Samsung Engineering has signed two contracts with ADNOC Refining, a subsidiary of ADNOC, to build a 3.07-billion-dollar plant.

Samsung Engineering, with the attendance of the Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Paik Un-hyu and CEO of ADNOC Sultan Al Jaber (UAE Secretary of State), signed a contract with ADNOC Refining to build the ‘Ruwais Heavy Oil Treatment Facility’ (2.6 billion dollars) and the ‘Waste Heat Recovery Project’ (470 billion dollars) on the 25th (local time).

Samsung Engineering has decided to build a desulfurization plant with a daily capacity of 170,000 barrels at the Ruwais refinery, 230 km west of the Abu Dhabi’s capital, and refurbish the existing refinery to match the new supply.

Samsung Engineering won a contract to build a power plant (230MW) and a desalination plant (62,400 m3 per day) using exhaust heat generated by Ruwais Industrial Complex. It expects to achieve good synergy by making full use of its existing experienced workers, equipment, facilities and business partners’ networks in conjunction with its Ruwais Heavy Oil Treatment Facility project.
