Cho Hyun Min (35), executive director of passenger marketing at Korean Air, is suspected of hurling a bottle of water at an advertising agency employee and forcing him/her out of the conference hall.

Executive Cho is the younger sister of Cho Hyun-ah, former vice president of Korean Air, who caused the controversy in the so called ‘Nut Rage’ incident in 2014, and the daughter of Cho Yang-ho, Chairman of the Hanjin Group. As Hanjin Group owner’s child is the focus of another controversy, the social ripple effects are expected to widen.

According to Maeil Business News Korea, executive director Cho was reported to have hurled a bottle of water at an employee of the advertising team during a meeting with company A, the advertising agency for Korean Air, last month.

It has been reported that executive Cho furiously threw the water at the face of the head of the advertising agency, who attended the meeting, and kicked the person out of the conference hall after failing to properly answer her questions regarding Korean Air’s British advertising campaign.

An anonymous message board of company A stated that, “(Executive Cho) first threw a bottle containing a drink but did not break, and in frustrated rage she hurled water at the employee.” The bigger problem was that Company A, which suffered the act, were the ones to apologize to executive Cho. According to those concerned, the president of company A was reported to have apologized to Korean Air.

Company A is currently tight lipped . An official of company A revealed, “It is true that we are acting on behalf of Korean Air’s advertisement. We have checked (whether this is accurate or not) with the team in charge, but they would not respond. It is a rule not to talk about such things because of the nature of the advertising industry. We hope you understand.”

Korean Air denied the issue and said, “It is true that executive Cho was angry. She did yell at the employee, but she did not throw any water or drink during the meeting.”

Current president of Incheon Grand Hyatt and the oldest daughter of Chairman Cho Yang-ho, Cho Hyun-ah (44), was involved in the so-called “Nut Rage” incident, which occurred in December of 2014 when Cho Hyun-ah was the former vice-president of Korean Air. The incident happened while preparing the airplane for takeoff, when Cho kicked a cabin crew chief off the plane for the nuts service.
