Samsung SDS (CEO Hong Won-pyo) announced at the Sangam Data Center on May 17th that it will introduce a multi-cloud service called ‘Samsung SDS Enterprise Cloud’ and will actively promote the cloud business.

Samsung SDS Enterprise Cloud is a multi-cloud service that combines new technologies secured through partnerships with leading global companies based on know-how accumulated through conversion and operation of Samsung affiliates’ cloud services.

Recently, global companies have had to face new challenges such as selecting the best cloud service, planning a business-specific cloud transition, switching between different types of cloud services, and managing multi-cloud operations.

Samsung SDS provides multi-cloud total services ranging from consulting to conversion to operation by applying task-specific cloud conversion methodology accumulated for Samsung affiliates to customers with such concerns.

In a multi-cloud environment that utilizes both private and public clouds, security, reliability, and performance are key, and public clouds are important for rapid development and cost optimization.

In particular, Samsung SDS’s private cloud has the world’s highest level of availability (99.999%), guaranteeing a total system downtime of less than 5 minutes per year. Furthermore, it provides enterprise core services with strong cloud services such as ERP (Enterprise Resource Management), MES (Manufacturing Execution System), and SCM (Supply Chain Management).

In addition, Samsung SDS developed the PaaS(Platform as a Service) specifically for application development, enabling customers to reduce the number of days required to build a development environment under 15 days, enabling rapid development and deployment of applications.

Samsung SDS’s customized public Cloud Managed Service (CMS) provides optimal cloud selection, maximum cost efficiency, and integrated management of heterogeneous cloud through Global One View (GOV).

Moreover, Samsung SDS plans to introduce a supercomputing cloud in the second half of this year, providing cloud-based computing resources for high- performance computing and large data processing such as AI and Big Data analysis.

“Samsung SDS Enterprise Cloud provides a total service for the cloud experience that enterprise customers want. Based on cloud experience and technology accumulated over the past several years, we are going to push forward our foreign cloud business in earnest,” said Kim Ho, executive vice-president of the Cloud Business Division of Samsung SDS.
