The Korea Healthy Aging Society (Dr. Paik Nam-sun, who is practicing the idea of sharing happiness and health in the 100-year-old era), held an inaugural symposium at the main auditorium on the second floor of the Life Science Research Institute of Seoul St. Mary’s Hospital on May 27th.
Dr. Paik Nam-sun said in his greeting, “At the age of 100, it is important to be born healthy and live a healthy life. Small but certain, happiness will be the most important topic in Healthy Aging.”
The inaugural symposium consisted of four sessions.
In Session 1, the theme of “Healthy Aging life habits and health changes” (Dr. Paik Nam-sun, Director of the Ewha Womans University Cancer Center for Women) was discussed. The session also looked at how healthy aging can be developed in an age of centenarians, how to check one’s body and disease with a genome, how obesity is also a disease, and what is the issue with chronic fatigue.
In Session 2, the main theme was “Disease and Nutrition” and the lectures touched on different topics such as nutritional therapy for healthy aging, latest view of Vitamin D treatment, and how elastic blood vessels have an impact on young life.
In Session 3, the main theme was “Medical Science and the Standard of living” and the lectures touched topics such as Chronic disease and personalized music therapy, how to find Happiness through Health, and how to live and understand cancer.
Session 4 was chaired by Hospital director Chung Jung-man of the Inseon Medical Foundation. The session consisted of special meetings with actors such as Lim Hyeon-sik and touched on various themes such as understanding media and how life is fun when women are healthy.
The institute aims to establish a healthy 100-year-old society by setting up scientific guidelines for public health management and preventing diseases through public relations education.
