Microsoft has confirmed that they will release its new Office 2010 suite. The beta version of Microsoft Office 2010 has been downloaded by over seven million people since last Nov. (a selected group of testers).
Along with the desktop versions of the software, Office 2010 also has an online version called Office Web, which includes upgraded versions of Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and OneNote optimized for cloud computing. Office Web is available to Microsoft's subscription customers without any additional charges to the client version. Users can approach Office Web for free through Microsoft's Windows Live portal.
We might be a bit disappointed with the new version since it does not look like it has changed dramatically; however, there are always decent alternatives than using Office.
Microsoft Office 2010 will be released first in the U.S. in June. If you are not patient to wait, then you can pre-order the retail version of Office 2010 at Microsoft's online store. The price ranges from about US$149 to US$449 depending on the version.
