Go Green with Samsung’s New Eco-friendly Phone

Samsung Restore is 84 percent recyclable phone

To celebrate Earth Day (April 22), Samsung mobile launched its second eco-friendly phone, Samsung Restore, in partnership with Sprint in the U.S.

The eco-friendly phone is made from 84 percent recyclable bio-plastic, Energy Star Version 2.0 qualified energy efficient charger, 100 percent recyclable packaging, featuring a cardboard box made from 70 percent post consumer materials and printed with soy ink. Not to the mention, even the user manual will be replaced with an online user manual, which the users can access when the device comes out.

Samsung Restore also gives users instant access to a collection of green, Earth-friendly information and tips, so they can have a greener life style. It is not quite like other smartphones. Therefore, it appeals to consumers who are environmentally friendly and do not want to throw another phone in the landfill. Samsung has been committed to the environment providing Energy Star qualified power adapters for mobile phones.

Moreover, Samsung runs "Mobile Take Back" project which lets consumers to send in their cell phones (without any charge) to be properly disposed of, and it is well received by the public. In addition, an official from Samsung Mobile announced that "We are planning to collect one million mobile phones for recycling by the end of this year."
