Hyundai Engineering won the ‘SDGs (UN’s Suistainable Development Goals)’ at the ‘UN HLPF Korea Ceremony’ on June 11th.
The UN HLPF is a forum held at the UN Headquarters in New York since 2013 to examinethe implementations of sustainable development. This is the first time such event has been held in Korea.
Hyundai Engineering became the first Korean Construction and Engineering company to join the SDGs Korea Association as a full member in 2015 and has continued participation in the quarterly parliamentary forum to support public and private communication.
In the 2017 SDGBI (UN’s Sustainable Development Goal Business Index), Hyundai Engineering was the only outstanding group in the construction and engineering industry. Hyundai Engineering also joined the UN Global Compact (UNGC) in 2010 and has regularly published sustainable management reports since then.
“This award recognizes various efforts and achievements for sustainable management. We will continue to pursue balanced growth with our stakeholders and actively engage in sustainable management activities in line with the SDGs activities promoted by the United Nations and the international community,” said an official of Hyundai Engineering.
