On April 26, 2010, it was announced that Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI) will collaborate with LIG Nexon in the development of a national defense weaponry system. They agreed upon a MOU to work together in development of IT and national defense technology.
Together, they will work on state-of-the-art weaponry system simulation and next generation national defense communication SW technology development to strengthen the national defense. ETRI is known for its strong IT technology development while LIG Nexon is known for their cutting-edge national defense weaponry system development, forming a talented and experienced team.
Kim Hong Nam, ETRI's director stated, "This MOU will advance the country's technology and provide our fellow countrymen with a stronger national defense as well as a stronger feeling of protection. We want ETRI's and LIG Nexon's developed technology to become the foundation of the country's national defense."
