IASP 2010 Daedeok

Daedeok Innopolis is a global leader for green growth. And on May 23 to 26, 2010, the 27th IASP World Conference on Science & Technology Parks will be held at Daedeok Innopolis, which is located in Daejeon.

Daedeok Innopolis, the largest and oldest science park in Korea, is excited to present this year's exhibition. The park expects that this event will heighten the brand value of Daedeok Innopolis, and the image of green Korea.

Daedeok Innopolis has been ready to host this event after winning the bid in 2007. Daedeok Innopolis has got numerous green technology research products and will broadcast its green growth projects through this conference. There will be a Green Biz Hall (displays the high tech science, renewable energy, sustainable energy technology, future cells, and various relevant products.), The Green R&D Zone (exhibits R&D institutes, university R&D centers) and Science Technology Park Zone (introduces the vision of global STC). With these preparations, IASP 2010 Daedeok is going to help to produce the innovation environment for STP to the world.

Besides the exhibition, ISAP 2010 Daedeok also provides convenient facilities for visitors, such as accommodations with 60 percent off the price, a free shuttle-bus to the conference and a tour program around Chungbuk area, where Dadoek Innopolis is located.

The three sessions that IASP 2010 Daedeok has scheduled are Innovation systems for Global Green Growth (G3), G3 commercialization and the role of Science and Technology Parks in economic development. For the conference over 1200 delegates, Nobel Prize winners, STP representatives, academics, CEOs from 60 countries plan, and around 600 people in Korea will visit the exhibition. As far as it known, Robert Grubbs, a Nobel Prize winner and professor at CALTEC, and Bjorn Lomborg, professor at Copenhagen Business School will attend the G3 meeting.

1. Leading a new trend of IASP

Until now the conferences have mainly talked about science parks itself. However, IASP 2010 Daedeok will be the first conference that widens its global theme. From this year, they are going to discuss about climate, environment and energy problems and to seek solutions for it.

2. Secure a leading position in green growth by Daedeok declaration

The declaration will suggest a new role for Science & Technology Parks by promoting green technology. As a communicator; the declaration will also help build a rapport for STP. Furthermore, it will help to improve the image of Daedeok Innopolis as the leader of green growth.

3. Business linked conference

Not only for exchanging and sharing the scientific information, the conference is going to be the actual program for purpose of Research and Business Development (R&BD). IASP 2010 Daedeok is going to display green products and relevant technology by domestic and foreign companies and institutes during the exhibition.

4. Expanding the role of Asia for intercontinental balance

Along with the fact that Asia has become the central axis of the world economy, ISAP 2010 Daedeok tries to increase the participation of the Asia countries such as, Japan, China, and India Saudi Arabia, also enhances the role of them in the conference.
