SK Telecom announced on Sept. 13 that it has been incorporated into the DJSI World, a top 10 percent in its assessment of the world's most prestigious "Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI)" for the 11 consecutive years.

SK Telecom is the only Korean company to have reached the record for 11 consecutive years this year in the DJSI World list.

"DJSI" is an index that was jointly developed by S&P Dow Jones, the world's largest financial information company, and Swiss investment evaluation firm RobecoSAM. Out of global listed companies, about 2,500 companies are evaluated comprehensively for their financial performance, responsibility for society, and environmental management.

This year's 'DJSI' evaluation was conducted in 60 industries. In the telecommunication sector, 60 companies were evaluated.

SK Telecom explained that it received high reviews in its New ICT strategy ▲ICT-based social value generation ▲individual information protection ▲the board of directors-oriented governance structure and could be included in the top 10 percent of the evaluation programs.

Since 2013, SK Telecom has been publishing an 'Integrated Annual Report' that contains the performance and future prospects of its sustainable management activities to its stakeholders and customers. Moreover, since 2008, the Corporate Citizen Committee has been established and operated under the board of directors as the organization that is responsible for corporate social responsibility.

In addition, SK Telecom is the first company in Korea to participate in UNGC LEAD, which is a member of UN Global Compact (UNGC), and is the only Korean company to participate in  members of International Integrated Reporting Council (IIRC).

"SK Telecom's efforts to pursue social values have been recognized worldwide. We will continue our sustainable management activities to become a company loved by our customers ," said Yoo Young-sang, head of SK Telecom's Corporate Center.
