Prosecutors raided Samsung Everland headquarters in connection with allegations that it blocked labor union activities. According to the prosecution on Sept. 17, the prosecution raided the headquarters in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province.

The prosecution has secured related documents by sending in prosecutors and investigators. Based on analysis of confiscated materials, it is planning to carry out a summon investigation of related persons at the same time.

Earlier, the Everland labor union sued 36 officials, including Samsung Group Chairman Lee Kun-hee, for unfair labor practices, based on the document of the "2012 S Group Labor Strategy" released in 2013.

The document is said to contain strategies to disrupt the labor union, including routine monitoring and management of union members, punishment and dismissal.

The prosecution cleared the case in 2015 two years after receiving the complaint. The investigation results showed that it was difficult to conclude that Samsung had prepared the document and that it was difficult to punish Samsung for writing the document.

However, in April, the Samsung branch of the metal labor union filed a complaint again to the prosecution over alleged unfair labor practices, claiming that the prosecution's last decision was wrong. Group Chairman Lee Kun-hee, Vice Chairman Lee Jae-yong, Lee Boo-jin, president of Hotel Shilla, and 39 other Samsung officials were involved in the lawsuit.
