KB Financial Group delivered 700 million rupiah (about 53 million won) to Indonesia's Red Cross on Oct. 11 in connection with the September earthquake and tsunami in Jakarta, Indonesia.
Yoon Jong-kyoo, chairman of KB Financial Group, and officials at Bukopin Bank met with Ginanjar Kartasasmita, governor of the Indonesia's Red Cross, to express their deep sympathy and deliver the money.
Bukopin Bank is the 14th largest medium-sized bank in Indonesia. KB Kookmin Bank acquired 22 percent of the bank`s shares on July 27 to secure the second largest shareholder status.
In the wake of the earthquake in Lombok, Indonesia occurred in July, KB Kookmin Bank donated 30 million won for the disaster recovery through the Korean Red Cross in cooperation with Bukopin Bank.
Delivering the relief fund, a KB Financial Group official said, "We hope to help the victims in Indonesia find the place of life again through a quick recovery and heal the wounded mind."
