An employee of a business partner of Samsung Display fell and died in the company's workplace in Cheonan.
According to police and fire authorities on Oct. 11, a 39-year-old worker, A, of a Samsung Display's subcontractor who was taking out machinery from the company's plant in Cheonan, South Chungcheong Province, fell from the fifth floor and died.
After the crash, he suffered head damage and was taken to a nearby Dankook University hospital by an 119 ambulance to receive treatment, but failed to wake up.
At the time of the accident, he reportedly tried to take out equipment inside the workplace building by using an aerial ladder.
Another 37-year-old man, B who was working with A, was rescued in 20 minutes by a fireman while hanging on an aerial ladder. According to the fire department, B was taken to a hospital with serious injuries to his waist and legs.
Police are investigating the cause of the accident by calling officials from Samsung Display's Cheonan workplace.
