How can we define "good development" Kang Gye-doo, President of Daedeok Innopolis, believes green and human oriented technology are the most valuable things when it comes to "advanced technology." President Kang has been pursuing these technologies for the upcoming ISAP 2010 Daedeok.

Korea has grown into one of the world's top 10 economies, with the progress of science being one of the main reasons for economic development. The Daedeok Science Technology Park (STP), an example of the progress of science, is taking steps to develop green technology. It has been a good example for developing countries who urgently need the development of science for technology and business development

Kang Gye-doo, President of Daedeok Innopolis
President Kang explained the Daedeok STP model by saying, "It combines 18 regional units of techno park complex models centered on the Daedeok Science Park. On a broader view, STP is combined with the development of both the technology park and the Daedeok Innopolis."

Across the world, there are many science parks and technology parks, but the combination of both is very rare. Therefore, Daedeok has become an example to other countries such as the Phillippines, Thailand, Vietnam, and Malaysia. These countries want to benchmark Daedeok STP for their development. He added, "Moreover, some nations such as Egypt and Turkey already have signed a MOU agreement with Daedeok for STP construction."

President Kang also introduced the Tech-Biz Center (TBC), which has become a source of Daedeok's pride and joy. This building is basically a "green building" to save KRW 41 million per year with the installment of solar power, LED lights, roy-glass which provides good insulation, air circulation systems, and a water recycling system.

Kang described it by saying, "The TBC supports the 'commercialization of space technology.' For this commercialization, TBC supplies the 'One-Stop Service' which provides intensive support and other services for certain promising technology. TBC also elicits industrial cooperation."

Thus, the 'Business Hub center' in TBC makes everything possible through the harmony of the high quality of service and the technology commercialization program. President Kang prospects that, "TBC will bring a commercialization effect through R&D (research and development), and a synergy effect backed by intensive support."

Besides the STP and TBC, President Kang considers communication and field-based interaction very important. Therefore, in Daedeok, a few meetings has been held regularly such as "Yihwahoe" and "Suyeonhoe" (which means "research and study meetings on Wednesday" in Korean). The meetings promote cooperation by sharing information and discussing certain topics.

Since ISAP 2010, Daedeok has been aiming towards "Green Growth." The future looks much greener with President Kang's management philosophy which emphasizes people and cooperation.
