SK Telecom announced on October 18 that it participated in "TIP(Telco Infra Project) Summit" held in London for two days from October 16 to 17 and announced its operating performance and future plans for TEAC Seoul.
TIP is a global consultative body that was established by global telecommunication businesses such as SK Telecom, Deutsche Telecom, Intel, and Nokia in February 2016 to innovate telecommunication infrastructures.
TEAC(TIP* Ecosystem Acceleration Center) is a program for major global mobile network operators to build ecosystems and develop next-generation telecommunication technologies through cooperation with strong telecommunication infrastructure businesses.
In September 2017, SK Telecom selected Optella Korea, KulCloud, and Singapore's Transceiversal as the first "TAC Seoul". SK Telecom is providing them with technical advice and test beds, providing joint overseas exhibition participation and opportunities for collaboration with global operators.
As a result, Transcelestial secured stability of its wireless optical communication solutions through SK Telecom's commercial network test and attracted about 2.1 billion won in investment from global investors.
Optella also worked with SK Telecom to develop optical engine/module prototypes for low-power optical cable transmission. In addition, KulCloud is considering developing and commercializing virtual-based 5G network monitoring equipment and is currently carrying out 5G project worth about 2.3 billion won.
Meanwhile, SK Telecom selected Airhop Communications, DevStack Korea and Network Definitions as the second "TAC Seoul" in September 2017.
