Samsung Display is planning to strengthen its focus on Chinese markets by introducing OLED technologies that are targeted at mobile devices and new markets.
Samsung Display announced on October 19 that it invited its customers to Shenzhen and held '2018 Samsung OLED Forum' on October 18.
This event was held under the theme of '5G era and OLED' in order to introduce excellence of OLED, which is seen as a display for premium Smartphones, to global markets.
About 20 Chinese customers such as OPPO, VIVO, Huawei, Xiaomi, Lenovo, and ZTE attended the event.
Following its announcement on principles of OLED technology and appealing points of OLED markets, Samsung Display introduced ultra-realistic and ultra-high-definition display technologies that are suitable for 5G era.
Samsung Display introduced FoD (Fingerprint on Display) and SoD (Sound on Display) that will implement 'Full Screen', which is considered basic specifications for premium Smartphones. Samsung Display also introduced low-consumption power and ultra-high quality technologies that can enjoy high-resolution multimedia contents vividly for a long time. Along with commercialization of 5G, it also introduced rollable vehicle and transparent display products.
"5G will completely change our industry's life through high speed, high capacity and super-connectedness," said Kim Sung-chul, head of Samsung Display's OLED business division. "OLED will provide customers with new values and solutions that are suitable for the 5G era with infinite potential," he stressed.
Meanwhile, Samsung Display is planning to develop new applications and develop variety of promotions for growth of OLED markets.
