KT announced on October 22 that it will push for LTE network consulting business ordered by Botswana Telecoms Corporation (BTC) in Botswana, Africa.
This project is based on a long-term partnership between KT and BTC, and KT provides comprehensive technical consulting in the process of designing and deploying BTC's LTE network.
Since 2014, KT has been working on constructing IT infrastructures such as FTTx network in Botswana.
In 2017, KT successfully carried out a short-term consulting project to diagnose BTC's wired and wireless network for about four months and establish its future strategy. Based on the results, KT is pushing for this LTE network consulting business.
KT is planning to teach BTC employees skills such as network stability management experience and capabilities.
After network establishment is completed, it is going to conduct implementation management consulting for about eight months, including final inspection testing for commercialization of deployed equipment.
"KT provides differentiated wired and wireless network technology consulting in many countries based on its accumulated network operation experience and excellent technical capabilities," said Hwang Woo-keun, head of KT global technology consulting team, "We will continue to expand our technology consulting business in various fields in the future,"
Meanwhile, KT is also providing Korea's only technology consulting business in the underwater cable field as well as in the field of wired and wireless networks.
KT, which was selected as Chile`s consultant on the deployment of backbone networks in August, has signed a technology consulting contract with Chile`s telecommunications company in the field of submarine cable deployment and is carrying out a technology consulting business.
