KT announced on November 7 that it signed a global exclusive distribution contract for VR sports contents with Appnori, a developer specializing in VR sports contents.
Through this contract, KT is going to carry out offline contents distribution business such as VR Experience Room/Game Arcade Business Center in South Korea and abroad and Appnori is in charge of developing VR sports games.
Starting with the distribution of VR sports games, KT is planning to gradually expand its business based on realistic media platforms through close cooperation with domestic and global game developers.
In particular, the company plans to expand its existing online experience-oriented real-media business through GIGA Live TV, which will be released on October 12.
"We are going to take the initiative in promoting real-world media contents distribution starting with publishing this content," Koh Yoon-jeon, head of KT's future business development group, said. "We will further contribute not only to cooperation between domestic businesses but also to create a real media ecosystem that encompasses on-and-off through expansion of global businesses."
