Rep. Chung Yoo-sup of the opposition Liberty Korea Party claimed, "Samsung Electronics Vice Chairman Lee Jae-yong reads countenance of Lee Seon-kwon, chairman of the North Korean Committee for the Peaceful Reunification, while eating cold noodles.”
"I will show the arrogance of those who have nuclear weapons," Chung told at the National Assembly's inspection on the National Assembly Steering Committee on Nov. 6 by showing the video during the inter-Korean summit held in September.
Rep. Chung said, “Lee Seon-kwon appears on the leaders` table, shaking hands at first, smiling and having a good mood. But suddenly, when President Moon Jae-in entered, his face hardened. At other tables, people are smiling and soft, but here they seemed to be disciplined because of Lee’s remarks, ‘Do cold noodles go down your throat?’”
When the video ended, Rep. Chung said, "He is arrogant with nuclear weapons. As long as North Korea has nuclear weapons, laughing and dining together are all hypocritical.”
In response, Cheong Wa Dae's National Security Office chief Chung Eui-yong said, "It is not appropriate to judge the overall inter-Korean relationship by making assumptions about a person's remarks while we are not sure of context or background."
