SK Telecom announced that President & CEO Park Jung-ho has been reelected as a member of the GSMA board.
GSMA announced on November 12 (local time) members of the GSMA board, including SK Telecom Chairman Park Jung-ho, who will lead GSMA for the next two years from 2019 to 2020.
The term of the board of directors is two years, and SK Telecom will serve as a member of GSMA's board of directors from 2009 to 2012.
GSMA is a consultative body consisting of 750 telecommunication businesses from 220 countries around the world.
GSMA's board of directors is the top decision-making body composed of CEOs of global leading telecommunications companies.
GSMA's new board of directors, unveiled by GSMA, is comprised of 25 major mobile carriers such as SK Telecom, Verizon, AT&T, Japan Softbank, NTT DoCoMo, China Mobile, and China Unic.
SK Telecom showed direction of commercialization of 5G in advance. It provided '5G Play Book' white paper, which was published by GSMA, with roadmap for standardization of 5G, new technologies for standardization of 5G, and 5G service cases.
SK Telecom announced that it will establish a global mobile ecosystem in 5G, AI and media areas with GSMA members over the next two years.
