Jam City, Netmarble's North American subsidiary, announced on November 15 that it has formed a partnership with Disney today to develop mobile games for many years to come.
The partnership includes the acquisition of Disney's popular mobile game "Disney Emoji Blitz."
Jam City will absorb 'Disney's Glendale Games Studio' and take charge of Disney Emoji Blitz's service operations and future updates.
The partnership also allows Jam City to develop new mobile games based on popular characters and stories from Pixar and Walt Disney Animation.
The two companies said they are planning a game based on the follow-up story of Disney`s 'Frozen' as the first title developed through partnership.
"Disney has characters and brands that have been loved by various generations for decades," said Chris DeWolfe, founder and CEO of Jam City. "I think Jam City will be the ideal partner for Disney's brand-based mobile game development."
In Disney's Emoji Blitz game, gamers have characters from Disney Animation "Wreck-It Ralph", "Micky Mouse & Friends" and "Disney Story" to collect.
Disney Emoji Blitz is currently available for download through App Store and Google Play.
