ITU-T SG3 (International Telecommunication Union Standardization Sector Study Group 3) meeting organized by Korea Communications Commission (KCC) and the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) will be held in the Ritz Carlton, Seoul from May 17(Mon) to 21 (Fri).

Usually, ITU-T SG3 is held in Geneva.  However, this time Korea is going to host the meeting and more than 40 countries and their communication-related government officials, businesses and professionals.  Over 100 people are expected to attend.

ITU-T produces international guidelines for telecommunication, accounting principles, defines traffic and recommendations. Within the ITU-T, study Group 3 is responsible for studies relating to traffic, accounting principles and much more. At the forthcoming meeting, the major issues for discussion are the international mobile roaming charges, SMS-MMS traffic, network externalities, and international Internet connectivity.

Korea as the chair of this event expects to improve its national image in key issues throughout the ITU-T SG3 meeting and contribute to competitive and responsible globalization of the telecommunications industry.
