LG Display has promoted its differentiated technology of OLED in Japan.
LG Display advisor Yeo Sang-deok made a keynote speech at the "28th Finetech Japan" on December 6 under the theme of "OLED, Dream of Future Display!"
The Finetech Japan is a flat display exhibition that will be held in Japan, displays various cutting-edge technologies and products in the industry, including equipment and parts needed for development and manufacturing of displays such as LCD, OLED, and sensors, as well as state-of-the-art displays.
As a pioneer of OLED in South Korea, advisor Yeo introduced LG Display's OLED technology, characteristics, and strategies.
"In Japan, OLED TVs form 69 percent of the high-end TV market and out of 15 OLED customers, many Japanese companies such as Sony, Panasonic, and Toshiba are included," Yeo said. "In Japan, OLED TVs are the trend."
NHK, a Japanese public broadcaster, has been working with LG Display since it announced its plan to broadcast the 2020 Tokyo Olympics at 8K.
Meanwhile, LG Display is continuing to introduce innovative products such as wallpaper, 8K OLED, and roller-bladed OLED after introducing the world's first OLED TV panel in 2013.
