The appointed opinion leaders to Korea IT Times are: Dr. Shin Gook-hwan, the former minister of Knowledge Economy; Dr. Yang Seung-taik, the former minister of Information and Communication; Dr. Kim Hak-su, the former executive secretary of UNESCAP; Dr. Yoon Hwa-jin, the former senior Economist of ADB; Dr. Kim Wan-soon, Professor Emeritus, Business School, Korea University; Dr. Park Ho-goon, the former minister of Science and Technology.

Dr. Shin Kook-hwan

Dr. Shin Kook-hwan is currently working as an invited researcher at ETRI. Dr. Shin served as Minister of Industry and Resources from 2000 and 2002. He was then elected as a member of the 17th National Assembly. He also served as the former direct-general of the Electronics and Electricity Industry Bureau at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry from 1981 to 1984. Dr. Shin graduated from Seoul National University in 1963 and earned his honorary doctorate degree from SNU in 2003.

Dr. Yang Seung-taik

Dr. Yang Seung-taik is currently working as a Professor of Distinguished Chair of KAIST and invited researcher of ETRI. Dr. Yang today serves as a foreign special advisor to the Vietnam government and Chairman of KDC. He worked as President of Information and Communications University in 1998, and President of Tongmyong University in 2003. He was the former minister of the Ministry of Information and Communication from 2002 to 2003. Dr. Yang earned his Ph.D. in Engineering from Polytechnic University at the Brooklyn Campus in 1976.

Dr. Kim Hak-su

Dr. Kim Hak-su is currently Chairman for the Asia Economic Community Foundation, which is registered under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade and the Korean Government. He served under the Secretary General of the United Nations and as Executive Secretary of the UNESCAP for seven years (2000~2007). Dr. Kim has rich experience in the public and private sectors, as well as in the international civil service. He earned a Ph.D. in economics from the University of South Carolina and M. Phil. in economics from Edinburgh University.

Dr. Park Ho-gun

Dr. Park Ho-gun is currently working as President of the Green Growth Forum at the Incheon Regional Environmental Technology Development Center. Dr. Park served as the Minister of Science and Technology in 2003 and worked as the President of Incheon University for 4 years from 2004 to 2008. From 1999 to 2003, he worked as President of Korea Institute of Science and Technology. Dr. Park earned his Ph.D. from the Ohio State University.

Dr. Youn Hwa-jin

Dr. Youn Hwa-jin serves as chairman of the Avalon Venture to lead all Asian business development and relationship management. He has had extensive experience internationally and in venture capital in Asia through relationships with Premier Capital and Pintoresco Advisors. He was Senior Economist for the Asian Development Bank (ADB), where he led over 60 country consultation and economic missions. Dr. Youn has served as a member of the Presidential Com-mission for Financial Reforms for Korean President Kim Young-sam during the IMF crisis. He earned his M.A. in Economics at Yale University and a Ph.D. at Santo Tomas University.

Dr. Kim Wan-soon

Dr. Kim Wan-soon is Professor emeritus at Korea University, and concurrently has been serving as Chairman of the FDI Inducement Advisory Group since March 2009, which is a part of the Gyeonggi Provincial Government. Between 1999 and 2005, he worked as the first Ombu-dsman of the Office of the Investment Ombudsman, appointed by the President, and was a member of the Regulatory Reform Committee. Dr. Kim was previously Chairman of the Korean Trade Commission, Korea's antidumping authority, from 1989 to 1998. Dr. Kim earned his doctoral degree in economics from Harvard University in 1969, and majored in public finance.
