KT announced on December 18 that it jointly develops and introduces 'Deepfly', an NB IoT-based service, by working with Mbrain, which is a black box developer for vehicles.
'Deepfly' service has IoT GPS function in current black box and it is linked to Smartphone application so that variety of information such as impact and accident while parking can be checked in real time.
In addition to this, vehicle information such as location of vehicle and battery condition can be inquired.
It also supports real-time monitoring of whether or not they are driving safely such as speeding.
"By releasing this black box, KT's application area of NB IoT has been expanded from fixed control area such as LPG to black box that is controlled by mobile devices," said Lee Mi-hyang, director of KT's Biz Incubation Center. "IoT black box is a service that is directly related to driver safety and property, so we expect it to be an essential service for drivers."
"We are going to provide new customer experience to black box users through Deepfly and pioneer new IoT black box markets." said Director Park Young-soo of Mbrain Service Business Department.
