Have you ever thought about getting treatment from your doctor online Now it is possible in Minnesota. Thanks to a just introduced year long pilot program offered by health care provider Park Nicollet Health Services and Zipnosis.com.
The service allows people to discuss common ailments or conditions such as colds, sinus infections, strep throat, seasonal allergies, cold and canker sores, quitting tobacco and bladder and yeast infections. Those seeking treatment should register at Zipnosis.com and provide details of their health history and registration information. After, patients pick which kind of ailments they are suffering from and answer a series of questions about their symptoms. This information is then sent to the doctors in the form of a clinical note. After the doctors get the information from the patients, they respond to the patients through e-mail or text message. If the patient appears to have some kind of condition, the doctors respond by giving diagnosis and treatment information. If the doctors suggest a more serious condition than first thought, patients will be directed to set up an appointment. This kind of treatment is comfortable for both patients and doctors.
The service allows people to save time waiting for a diagnosis when they know what kind of condition they are in, saving money at the same time. It is hitting two birds with one stone. Also for the doctors, John Misa, chief of primary care at Park Nichollet, said "the service not only makes care more convenient for patients, but also may help the practice earn more revenue. Treating such common ailments online," he said, "frees up doctors' schedules to see more patients with more serious ailments that require more advanced treatment." Although this new service is only practiced in Minnesota, Zipnosis plans to expand their service to Northern California and Pennsylvania. There is great possibility for the success of this type of service in Korea. Large volumes of iphone sales after their release indicates that Koreans will soon be ready for wider applications of iphone related services.
