Research that will refine the science of forensics in Korea is geared to receive a substantial increase. A new division will be created by The National Institute of Scientific Investigation (NISI) to complement their announced 48.5 billion won spending to refine Korea's criminal investigation techniques and raise the standard of DNA analysis for this science.
For the unfortunate consumers of criminal forensics the increased spending will assist with fast processing times for evidence and as a consequence, shorter cases and faster victim redress. The increased capabilities will also serve as a criminal deterrent by increasing the likelihood that criminals will be caught utilizing new techniques and capacities, and assist with the Korean standard of a clean living society.
This funding move is a far cry from the past when Korean police had to process DNA overseas. The move is also a wider testimony to the effectiveness of the Korean Digital Strategy at raising the standard of living for Koreans and visitors to Korea.
