On Wednesday Korea Electronics Technology Institute (KETI) announced a reorganization plan in order to support to small-and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) more effectively. KETI will reform their existing eight research headquarters as five R&D divisions in the fields of components and materials, energy-display, system IC (Integrated Circuit) broadcasting & ICT (Information and Communications Technology) and convergence industries. KETI also changed the Technology Commercialization Center to enlarge support for business as establishing an open technical support center
In addition, the new business development group for enhancements of new planning and development, international cooperation, the Software development agency for empowering software technology were established. The headquarters of the International Cooperation Department was assigned to the Policy Planning Divison so that they create concrete and substantial results in preparation for the leap to becoming a global research organization.
Choi Pyeong-Rak, President of KETI said "Through this reorganization, KETI is going to carry the highest level of business support services and commercialization and become a world-class electronics technology institute for its own 20th anniversary next year."
