HGC shares joy through lunch boxes for needy senior citizens

Rather than spending on corporate Christmas gifts, HGC has chosen to spend on giving back to the community. Today, 35 members of the HGC Volunteering Team, in partnership with Agape Garden, packed and delivered lunch boxes to the elderly in Sham Shui Po, Ngau Tau Kok, Yau Tong and other districts.

The "Giving Heart & Warmth for the Elderly" project has had the backing of The Against Elderly Abuse of Hong Kong (AEAHK), a non-governmental organisation that serves abandoned, living alone, hidden and poor aged citizens. This has been an opportunity for HGC to support important community organisations and spread warmth and love to the elderly. As well as providing HGC with a platform to connect with citizens in need, but has also enabled us to take an extra step in helping arouse the attention of the whole community of the problems facing our aging population.

Mr. Andrew Kwok, Chief Executive Officer of HGC, said: "This donation of lunch boxes marks a delightful end of 2018. We are certain that our customers are willing to support us in contributing to the needy as well." In 2019, HGC will continue to deliver state-of-the-art communications as leading Hong Kong and international fixed-line operator. HGC will also explore further collaboration with sectors across Hong Kong society and to extend our spirit of achieving "Beyond Possibilities" to the community.
