Lotte Group Chairman Shin Dong-bin toured the Incheon Terminal Lotte Department Store on Jan. 12 for about one hour and a half. It is the first time to check the business place since Chairman Shin returned to the management in October last year, according to the group.
Chairman Shin listened to explanations from Lotte Department Store CEO Kang Hee-tae and Lotte Mart CEO Moon Young-pyo during his visit to the site on the same day, and encouraged employees who had been busy ahead of the new opening.
Shin inspected the site of the renovation of the food center and asked the field staff to make sure that the shopping environment is at its best so that customers can enjoy.
More than anything else, Shin inspected Lotte Mart which is equipped with smart stores that customers can experience for themselves by applying a large number of next-generation smart technologies such as the "Electronic Price Display" and "Intelligent Showcase."
The Incheon Terminal Store was newly opened on Feb. 4 after its operation changed from Shinsegae Department Store to Lotte Department Store. It has 29,223 square meters of land and a parking space for 1,600 cars.
Lotte is also pushing for the development of a complex shopping mall in areas near the terminal. His visit is seen as a move that has helped create the so-called "Lotte town" that will be consisted of Lotte Department Store, Mart, and Complex Shopping Mall.
