LG CNS announced on Jan. 17 that it has joined the EEA (Enterprise Ethereum Alliance). EEA is a consortium that develops enterprise solutions and business models by utilizing Ethereum, a public blockchain technology. Some 500 global companies, including Microsoft, Intel, and JP Morgan, are participating.
Previously, LG CNS has been participating in the global blockchain project Hyperledger since July last year. In May 2017, it also signed a partnership with R3, a consortium specialized in the financial sector.
With the joining of EEA, as a result, LG CNS has established a global three-way cooperative system for innovation of major three blockchain technologies for business for the first time in the domestic industry, a company spokesman said.
"We have established a global cooperation system to develop technologies for the three global blockchain technologies," said Cho In-haeng, a senior vice president of LG CNS Information Technology Research Institute.
Meanwhile, LG CNS won an order to build a blockchain platform for KOMSCO in June last year and is planning to provide pilot services such as mobile gift certificates, document certificates, and digital ID cards starting from the end of this month.
