The Wolseong Nuclear Power Plant of Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Co. (KHNP) said that the Wolseong-3 reactor was shut down at 8:58 a.m. on Jan. 21.
"We are trying to figure out the cause of the shutdown," said an official from the Wolseong reactor. No one is injured and there is no radiation leak at present.
Wolseong Nuclear Power Plant Unit 3 started its 16th planned preventive maintenance on June 11 last year and resumed its power generation on Sept. 5.
At that time, KHNP said that it would resume power generation after repairing equipment and improving facilities in order to ensure safety, including Fukuoka follow-up measures.
