Qualcomm Incorporated announced on Jan. 28 that it would appoint Kwon Oh-hyung, vice president of Qualcomm Korea in charge of overall business in Korea, as its vice president and president of Qualcomm Korea.
President Kwon will take office immediately with the announcement and report directly to Jim Cathy, president of global business at Qualcomm.
Kwon, the new president of Qualcomm Korea, joined Qualcomm as a director of its Korean business in 2007 in San Diego, the U.S.
He moved to the South Korean office in earnest in 2012 and served as sales executive director and vice president of Korean business in the Qualcomm CDMA Technology Korea Mobile/IoT sector. During his tenure, he kept strong links with major OEM companies and explored new business opportunities,showing outstanding business performance.
Previously, he worked for the overseas business of LG Electronics in the U.S. and Japan.
He graduated from Yonsei University in 1996 and earned an MBA from the University of Phoenix in 2008.
