Dassault Systemes, a smart factory company, said on Feb. 8 that it has signed a memorandum of agreement (MOA) with Airbus on mutual cooperation for implementing 3D design, engineering, simulation and intelligence applications.
Dassault Systemes will help build a new ecosystem in Airbus's digital innovation and the European aviation industry over the next five years. Under the MOA, Dassault Systemes will build its 3D experience platform, which supports digital continuity from design to operation, as a single data model to provide an integrated user experience.
Digital Design, Manufacturing and Services (DDMS) will be provided to all Airbus business divisions and product lines, the company said. DDMS enables breakthroughs in new product design, operational performance, support and maintenance, customer satisfaction and new business models.
"There is no industry that shows the intersection of technology, science and art better than aviation," said Bernard Charlès, chairman of Dassault Systemes. "The 3D experience platform of Dassault Systemes will promote the digital innovation of Airbus and deliver a new experience that only the digital world is possible based on its insight and expertise throughout the ecosystem."
"It does not mean a simple digitalization and 3D experience, but it is to consider how aircraft are designed and operated and to simplify and accelerate the process by prioritizing customer satisfaction." said Guillaume Faury, CEO of Airbus Commercial.
