Samsung SDS said on Feb. 24 that it has supplied the GPU (Graphic Processing Unit) virtualization solution of Bitfusion Corp. of the U.S. to eBay Korea, the largest e-commerce company in Korea.
eBay Korea is planning to introduce GPU virtualization solution and analyze big data of customers' purchase patterns with AI and machine learning and apply it to optimal product recommendation services.
"We decided to introduce the solution under the judgment that it is the optimal solution for large-scale GPU clusters that are needed for online commerce's customer experience and service operation," said Hyun Eun-seok, CTO of eBay Korea.
Samsung SDS made an equity investment in Bitfusion in May last year to apply the world-class GPU virtualization technology to its cloud services.
"We are going to actively pursue foreign businesses with cutting-edge solutions and technologies that we have secured through strategic partnerships with global cloud companies," said Yoon Shim, vice president of Samsung SDS.
