Solicitors of Citibank Korea's card sales team were reprimanded for illegally gathering credit card members.

The Financial Supervisory Service (FSS) said on Feb. 12 that it reprimanded seven Citibank solicitors for violating the prohibited act on recruiting credit card members.

Under the credit-specialized financial law, credit card solicitors should not provide economic benefits exceeding 10-hundredth of the annual fee.

In addition, it is not allowed for card solicitors to recruit credit card members by entrusting others with the recruiting business.

However, the seven people recruited card members on the condition that they provide economic benefits that exceed 10-hundredth of the annual fee from September 2015 to April 201 7 or entrusting others with the recruiting business.
