KT announced on March 12 that it signed a MOU with South Korea Southern Power Co., Woori Airlines, and Synxpace at KT's Gwanghwamun East building to strengthen security infrastructure using intelligent drones and to create a safe smart generation environment.
With this agreement, the four companies are planning to take the lead in creating a safe smart generation environment based on ICT technologies including drones and AI and IoT by developing continuous and stable drone operating infrastructure, intelligent drones and converged security zones using AI, IoT, and optical infrastructure.
In order to establish intelligent drone infrastructure, KT has decided to develop next-generation drones that can control voice recognition speed of up to 100km/h in cooperation with South Korea Airlines and Synxpace, which have core technologies for drones.
It is predicted that drones that are pushing for development will become the world's first artificial intelligence voice recognition drones that use 5G network.
By doing so, non-professionals can control their voice remotely, and thus have many advantages compared to their previous counterparts such as preventing danger of falling.
"KT will present a new security paradigm in the 5G era by utilizing ICT capabilities such as drones, blockchain, and AI," said Director Kim Joon-geun of KT's Integrated Security Platform Business Group "with this cooperation, KT and Southern Power will lead the development market in the era of the fourth industrial revolution by discovering converged security services and expanding ecosystems."
