LG CNS said on April 3 that it has signed a business agreement with Changwon City to create a smart city.
LG CNS and Changwon City plan to co-participate in the "smart city challenge" project, which is a public offering project of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, and promote cooperation in various businesses using smart technologies, and create Changwon City as a global smart city.
The main agreements include cooperation in the ▲smart city challenge business ▲cooperation to strengthen the competitiveness of industrial complexes and companies in Changwon City, and the development of the related industries related to smart city.
Changwon City is actively participating in various smart technology public offering projects to create a "Changwon-style smart city" centered on citizens.
LG CNS was the first large company to obtain the certification for smart city's integrated platform from Telecommunications Technology Association. It also serves as co-chairman of the Fourth Industrial Revolution Committee and the "Smart City Convergence Alliance," a coalition of private companies participating in the smart city project.
Last year, the company won a project to establish strategies for specialization of smart city complexes in Jeju and a master plan for smart city in Haenam.
"LG CNS is a leading company in the smart city sector in Korea and will contribute to promoting national strategy by creating Changwon as a model for success in the best smart industrial city based on cooperation between the public and private sectors," said Kim Young-sup, president of LG CNS.
