Doosan Group is participating in the "BAUMA 2019" exhibition of construction machinery that will be held in Munich, Germany from April 8 to 14.
At the exhibition, Doosan Infracore succeeded in remotely controlling the excavator in Incheon, South Korea, about 8,500 kilometers from the "5G Remote Control Station" at the Munich Exhibition Center in Germany.
Doosan Infracore demonstrated 880 kilometers of remote control between countries as actual equipment at the Shanghai Construction Machinery Exhibition last year for the first time in the world.
It is also evaluated that the demonstration of remote control between Germany and Korea proved its technological prowess in remotely controlling construction machines anywhere in the world. Doosan Infracore is developing 5G communication-based construction machine remote control technology using LG Uplus' low-latency video transmission device.
It also introduced the "3D machine guidance" solution, which accurately measures the width and depth of work site in three dimensions with sensors attached to excavators. It also introduced DoosanCONNECT™, which is a telematics service that remotely monitors construction machines based on ICT (Information and Communication Technology), and 'DoosanCARE', which is an integrated service program.
"Visitors to the exhibition were interested in innovative construction machine solutions that utilize South Korea's telecommunication technology that commercialized 5G services for the first time in the world," said a representative for Doosan Infracore.
