LG Electronics is considering delaying the release of its first 5G mobile communication smartphone called 'LG V50 ThinQ'.

According to industry sources on April 15, LG Electronics and three telecommunication businesses are discussing the postponement of release of LG V50 ThinQ. Although LG V50 ThinQ was scheduled to be released on April 19, it is heard that LG is considering delaying its release to April 26.

"Because both manufacturers and telecommunication businesses are agonizing over the reduction of quality of 5G, we are considering delaying release of V50 ThinQ," said a representative for a telecommunication company.

It is heard that LG Electronics and telecommunication companies have reportedly reached a consensus on delaying the release date and conducting additional tests to improve stability.

Previously, Samsung Electronics launched its 5G smartphone for the first time on the 5G market on April 5, but it drew complaints from customers due to high instability, such as many places that do not have 5G network in Seoul as well as provincial areas and lack of communication. Even if 5G is caught, some complain that it is slower than LTE.

Samsung's Galaxy S10 5G comes with Samsung Electronics' own 5G modem chip, the Exynos 5100, while LG Electronics is equipped with Qualcomm's modem chip.
