LG Electronics is going to apply "LG UltraGear" brand to high-performance laptops following its gaming monitors and target the gaming market by expanding its lineup. LG UltraGir means "the strongest weapon to win" under the brand that LG Electronics first applied to its gaming monitor last year.
LG Electronics said on April 18 that it will apply the "LG UltraGear" brand to high-performance laptops with external graphics starting this month.
High-performance laptops (representative models 15G880) are designed to be used for business purposes as well as games. It is equipped with the latest Intel 8th generation hexa-core processor and has 144 screens (144 Hz) that can be processed per second.
By applying NVIDIA technology, it quickly switched screens and implemented performance that is optimized for gaming. It also has a 81Wh high-capacity battery that can be used for a long time without an adapter.
Gaming monitor (34GK950G) has WQHD (3440×1440) resolution with 21:9 screen ratio. Nano IPS displays that are installed on this product use fine molecules to fine-tune inaccurate colors.
LG Electronics is planning to promote LG UltraGear as a high-performance IT brand by sequentially releasing high-performance laptops with upgraded graphics performance and display, as well as gaming monitors that improve quality and response speed.
"We will actively target the changing Korean IT market by integrating 'LG Ultra-Gear' brands and expanding the lineup of products that are applied with new technologies," said Son Dae-ki in charge of marketing for LG Electronics' Korean sales division.
