Amore Pacific announced on April 18 that its headquarters building won the top prize in two categories and one category at the 2019 CTBUH Awards hosted by the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH).
It is the first time that Amore Pacific's headquarters has won the grand prize at the CTBUH Awards among buildings built in South Korea.
Marking its 50th anniversary this year, the CTBUH is the most prestigious international organization on high-rise buildings and urban architecture. Global companies in the architectural field participate as members, and hold a meeting every year to select and announce excellent architecture.
This year's awarding ceremony was held in Shenzhen, China, for three days from April 8. Each sector is divided into 20 categories based on architectural standards such as height, technology, design, creativity and urban environment.
Amore Pacific's headquarters won the grand prize in the "100-199 meter tall high-rise building sector" and "space interior section." It also won all three categories, including an outstanding award in the "Machine Electric Equipment Sector."
Regarding Amore Pacific's headquarters, the CTBUH said, "The work presented new standards such as showing the possibility of buildings communicating with nature, cities and people," adding, "The focus on the value and the level of the building itself rather than its high-level or trendy design was highly evaluated."
