Hyundai Engineering & Construction has launched cooperation in smart construction technology through "development of drone automatic control technology and demonstration of construction sites" with SK Telecom
The latest technology has applied SK Telecom's real-time video control solution "T Live Caster" to construction sites and office spaces, respectively.
It enables the headquarters or the field office to grasp the situation at home and abroad in real time and respond quickly to technical problems at the site.
When drones with "T Live Caster" are filmed at construction sites, high-definition images are transmitted to control centers in real time through 5G and LTE networks.
The control center can monitor the necessary screen and share opinions with the person in charge of the site, and send the video back to another location.
Through the technology, Hyundai E&C expects to shorten the time to respond to the site, which takes place at more than 200 construction sites at home and abroad.
At large construction sites such as bridges across the sea, skyscrapers and huge petrochemical plants, drones can be manipulated to shoot high-resolution images and shared in real time with headquarters.
"Hyundai Engineering & Construction, which has been at the forefront of the development of Korea's construction industry, is focusing the company's capabilities on developing and applying smart construction technologies in the face of the fourth industrial revolution era," said Seo Young-ho, head of Hyundai Engineering & Construction's technology solutions division.
