LG CNS has signed an agreement with LG Electronics and Boseong Industries to create a smart town in Busan's smart city.
According to an industry on April 29, the agreement will push for the construction of a smart town on 12,000 pyeong of land owned by Boseong Industries in Echo Delta City, Busan, a state demonstration city designated by the government in January last year.
Based on "City Hub," a smart city platform, LG CNS will establish IT infrastructure such as smart home, building energy and parking control systems, and will take charge of planning and integrated operations management of smart town services.
LG Electronics will be in charge of solutions such as smart home appliances, IoT and energy technologies that are needed for smart towns.
Boseong Industries will create all environments that can implement smart services and will be in charge of planning and construction of smart towns.
To create smart towns, LG CNS has been benchmarking the success of overseas smart towns that have developed the site of its abandoned plants into a residential smart town. Last year, it launched "Cityhub," an IoT-combined smart city platform that provides services in various areas, including transportation, safety, energy and the environment.
LG CNS has been conducting various smart city consulting projects such as the Sejong National Demonstration City, Haenam Solar City, Jeju Demonstration Complex, and Sewoon Sangga Smart Town development.
"LG CNS, LG Electronics, and Boseong Industries, which signed an agreement today, are the leading companies in smart cities in Korea." said an LG CNS official. "We will establish a framework for the development of the Korean smart city models and contribute to promoting national strategies."
