Police raided a hospital used by Lee Boo-jin, president of Hotel Shilla, over allegations that she habitually administered propofol, a drug sleeping anesthetic. It is the second time that the hospital has been raided since the allegations were raised.

The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency sent seven investigators to the A plastic surgery in Cheongdam-dong, southern Seoul, for search and seizure on May 13. Police secured Lee's medical records in the first raid in March, and in a further raid, they secured a year's medical records for the entire hospital. The search and seizure lasted more than 18 hours to end around 4:20 a.m. on July 14.

The police plan to compare the medical records for drug use to make sure that some propofol records were written as if they were used for other patients, even though they were actually given to Lee. Police plan to summon CEO Lee for questioning as soon as they finish the analysis.

Currently, the chief of the plastic surgery has been booked without detention on charges of violating the Medical Law and the Act on the Management of Drugs.

In March, a media outlet reported, citing a nursing assistant who worked at the cosmetic surgery, that Lee visited the hospital at least twice a month from January 2016 to October of the same year to administer propofol, and that the hospital did not prepare Lee's medication records.

Shortly after the allegations were raised, Lee explained through Hotel Shilla that she had attended the hospital in question for treatment, but did not take any illegal medication. She also explained that although she visited the hospital several times for treatment of scars and eyelid drooping surgery after a low-temperature burn suturing operation in her left leg in 2016, she has never given any illegal medication.
