Samsung C&T's construction unit kicked off the construction of the Samsung Village No. 7 project in Vietnam on May 14.

Samsung Village is a global residential environment improvement project jointly conducted by Samsung C&T and Korea Habitat. Starting with the construction of the first village in Indonesia's Pasirhalang area in February 2015, it has carried out projects in seven villages in three countries.

The entire cost of the Samsung Village project was raised with donations from Samsung C&T executives and employees.

Under the seventh project, Samsung C&T will provide new sanitary facilities, including homes for 18 households, home fixing for 35 households and 37 restrooms, and sanitation education and disaster response education for residents in villages in Vietnam.

The Samsung Village No. 7 project is scheduled to be completed in September 2020 and is expected to benefit about 3,000 villagers in Vietnam.

Yang Soon-ho, chief of Samsung C&T who attended the ground-breaking ceremony, said, "We are pleased that the project will contribute to improving the residential environment of the two villages, and we will continue to work together for the development of the community."
